It's people !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that make me realise I'm paddling at the shallow end of automotive photography. Paddling with armbands.

Hat tip to Powderhound for finding this guy.

Sweet. And he's also generous enough to let people download wallpaper sizes of his pictures.

Boss.

I used to play Santa for a family friend years ago. The husband and son restored E-types, but had a 512 that was found in a burned-down barn. Had it for almost 20 yrs. I took pics of it every time I came by. Don't know the status @ this time.

I would like to know what sort of equipment he's using, and how much post processing he does. Of course, it's not all in the equipment, but it helps. Full frame, pro lighting, top end lenses. You still need to have a great eye, and this fellow certainly does. But the quality of those images, not the composition, etc., would likely be difficult to reproduce on my 40D.

Very good point.

Actually, on the subject of post processing, I'd love to know how to recreate this sort of tone to a picture:

Kinja'd!!!

Sort of high white-balance, but still relatively rich in colour. Works very, very well with classic cars.

Full frame if not medium format at this point.

I wish I knew. I know next to nothing about PS techniques. Most of my post processing consists of somewhat educated guesses. I need to get a book or take a class.

This guy did that for me. It's not like I really shoot cars (though if I had better access, I damn sure would do more), but everything about the dude's work just did it for me. I would love to know what lenses he uses. The post work is obvious enough, but the lenses' creamy DOF just pushes all my buttons.

Same. The only thing I do to some of my pictures is knock the contrast up a notch or two to compensate for the weak-ass sun we often get here in the UK.

Those are fantastic. The no. 18 pic of the girl looking down is pretty much perfect. Reminds me of moments caught in rock clubs when I was at uni. Great shot.

Sweet. Any story that starts with restoring E-Types and then gets better is a good story.

Looks very clean. Much cleaner than my restoration efforts at least :)

I knew that Ferrari looked familiar, and so did all the Veyrons. :)

His photos look incredible, here are a few from my trip to Pebble:

(sorry about the quality, Kinja won't upload anything over 4mb..)

Maybe I'll pool all the pics together and make an entire post about it. There's not much in identification on this 512M due to the fire so the provenance is sketchy, but it was wrecked in a race(front-end damage, brake and hub mounts had to be built from scratch) Might have been owned by a privateer in 1971 by the name of Roger Penske...

He's also got some other restored-and-racing vintage like Sam Posey's(signed, too) LeGrand Mk7.

That's be seriously cool. You'd have to find out whether they've finished it though.
